Inspired by our passion for creativity, community and urbanism, ‘Art at EAST’ explores questions of urban living and sustainability through artistic expression. Working with artists and designers, our new art programme helps go-getting urbanites make the most of the city by exploring new meanings, materials and ideas.

URBAN REMIX:MIAMI

We launched Art at EAST theme ‘Urban Remix’ at EAST Miami by partnering with artist Carlos Betancourt on his installation, On the Edge: The Hopeful Forest, a series of totems made from repurposed objects found in the community. In collaboration with local artists, we will also bring ‘Urban Remix’ to Hong Kong and Beijing in 2020.

MEETOUR DINOS

Designed by contemporary Chinese sculptor Sui Jianguo, our playful dinosaurs bring a burst of colour and energy to our hotels. In orange, turquoise, pink, and yellow acid tones, our signature dinos can be found roaming throughout our EAST spaces.

ART & DESIGN

Every EAST hotel is home to a curated collection of contemporary art that complements the architectural design of each space. From EAST Miami’s infinity light installation to the leaping fish in Hong Kong and the sculptural water splash in Beijing, each piece expresses EAST's exuberance, energy and vitality.

Supporting eco-living is the focus at EAST Hong Kong. FEAST, Domain and Sugar use cage-free eggs in their recipes and avoid the use of endangered species; plant-based dishes are also available.

In-room filters purify local water to reduce use of plastic bottles and over 80% of hotels products are reusable or recyclable. 

ECOFRIENDLYBY DESIGN

Engineered for sustainability, EAST Miami is designed to minimise environmental impact by collecting and reusing rain water, capturing wind and providing shade. A holistic recycling programme means everything from soaps to flip flops are donated, re-used or repurposed.

COMMUNITYFOCUSED

Community is key at EAST Beijing. We partner with Roundabout to encourage clothing donations and hold seasonal reuse markets while working with kindergarten students to craft festive ornaments from repurposed bed sheets and towels. These green initiatives bring the community together to reuse, repurpose and recycle.
